At the 3rd UFPJ Assembly in Chicago this past June, the member groups approved the following resolution for a comprehensive fall campaign that puts emphasis on decentralized, local actions as well as nonviolent direct action and civil disobedience. UFPJ will commit staff time and resources to help organize, publicize and mobilize member groups to participate in these actions and campaigns.

• August: Local pressure on members of Congress when they are on recess in their home districts. Escalate the pressure on Congress in September, as they debate and vote on bills related to the war, including more funding.
  

• Aug. 6-9: No Nukes, No Wars, No Profiteers -- anniversaries of the U.S. atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki marked by protests at corporate offices and facilities of war profiteers, and nuclear facilities around the country.

• Aug. 6: Occupation Project Re-Launch -- acts of nonviolent civil disobedience and occupations of congressional offices through at least the end of September.

• Sept. 14-21: Declaration of Peace -- a week of coordinated nonviolent actions.

• Sept. 20: Speak Truth to Power -- a nonviolent direction on Capitol Hill, organized by the National Campaign for Nonviolent Resistance and the Declaration of Peace. Email septembertruth at yahoo.com to sign up.

• Sept. 21, and the 3rd Friday of Every Month Thereafter: Iraq Moratorium Campaign -- an escalating, monthly series of actions demanding an end to the war.

• Oct. 21-23: No War, No Warming -- local and national actions to highlight the connections between the war in Iraq and the global warming crisis.
